A maternity photography session is a beautiful and memorable experience that celebrates the journey of motherhood, capturing the radiant glow and the unique bond between an expectant mother and her unborn child. These sessions are designed to create stunning, heartwarming, and timeless images that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Here is what you can expect from me when you book a session.

1. Timing. Maternity photography sessions are typically scheduled during the second trimester or early third trimester, when the baby bump is prominent but the mother is still comfortable enough to pose and enjoy the experience. This timing allows for capturing the essence of the pregnancy without any undue stress.

2. Location. We decide together what type of location you are most interested in. Depending on the time of year some locations are better than others. The Utah mountains are a very popular choice but I like to provide a list of other popular spots! At additional costs, studio shoots are also available.

3. Wardrobe. The expectant mother usually has the opportunity to choose from a range of elegant and flattering outfits that emphasize her baby bump. Flowing dresses, form-fitting gowns, or even simple, well-coordinated everyday clothing can be used to create the desired aesthetic. I love to encourage you to incorporate sentimental items like baby shoes, onesies, or ultrasound images into the shoot.

4. Poses. Throughout the shoot I guide you in a variety of different poses that accentuate your baby bump but also making sure you are still comfortable. Depending on if you are doing the shoot alone or with a partner or other children, I incorporate your family members into the shots as well as making sure to get photos of just momma showing off her belly.

5. Post-Session. Typically you will receive your photos within 1-2 weeks after I have carefully edited them and backed them up to a hard drive. However, I do like to send sneak peaks within a couple of days! The photos will be delivered digitally in an online gallery where you can download all your photos and share them as you please!
