Utah Photography Locations

Finding a beautiful location in Utah for some photos is not hard to do. It is such a beautiful state with so much diverse landscape! This post is perfect for clients or even other photographers to check out and find your next location for your upcoming photoshoot. Below you will find some of my favorite go-to locations! All the pictures you see were taken by me.

Tunnel Springs Park

1080 Eaglepointe Dr, North Salt lake , UT 84054

Tunnel Springs Park is such a gorgeous spot! it is very popular among other photographers so it does get crowded but there is tons of room to roam and take pictures in the open fields. The view is also amazing! From the tall pampass grass to the rolling hills it is such a good spot to get some different backgrounds.

Albion Basin

9530 S Campground Rd Salt Lake City, UT 84121

Albion Basin is located up Little Cottonwood Canyon just past Alta Ski Resort. This location is only available during summer and early fall before the snow comes. July is the BEST time to come here because the wildflowers are absolutely amazing. There are strict policies to stay on trail to make sure the flowers stay as beautiful as they are. If you drive up to the next parking lot there is some more spots to take pictures with an amazing view and more of a forest type of vibe.

Exchange Place Rooftop

40 E Exchange Pl Salt Lake City, UT 84111

This rooftop in the heart of Salt Lake is a great location for photos to show off your hometown or just get that city vibe photoshoot! This location is open all year long and has plenty of different photo ops. To get here you just drive all the way to the top of this parking garage and park right where we will be taking pictures.

Salt Lake City Capitol

350 N State St, Salt Lake City, UT

This spot is AMAZING in late March/Early April due to the amazing cherry blossoms that bloom here. The pictures turn out amazing if you’re looking for that spring look. However, you can come to this location anytime of the year as well.

Jordan Pines Campground

Jordan Pines Campground Salt Lake City, UT 84121

Jordan. Pines. Campground. Such a popular spot. Located up Big Cottonwood Canyon. I love this location in the summer and fall especially! During the Winter and Spring months it is a great go to for a snowy photoshoot. Here you will get a beautiful mountain backdrop as well as a river and pond and all the beautiful trees.

Tibble Fork Reservoir

Located up American Fork Canyon, this is another location that is amazing all year round! Even if you’re not coming up here to take photos, people love to dirt bike, fish, swim and kayak. It is a very popular spot for every type of person and it is guaranteed that your photos will be beautiful at this gem.

Little Sahara Sand Dunes

27020 W Salad Mountain Road Eureka, UT 84628

The sand dunes are a perfect place if you’re looking for something super unique! No one would even know that this is in Utah! It can get quite windy here so its always good to be prepared for that.

University of Utah

201 Presidents Cir Salt Lake City, UT 84112

All my U of U graduates!!! The U is such a great place to show off all that you have accomplished and what a better place than where you are graduating from. In the spring they have the prettiest tulips and landscape that is great for those who aren’t even graduating and want a more industrial type of photoshoot!

Silver Lake

8030 S Brighton Loop Rd Salt Lake City, UT 84121

Another Location up Big Cottonwood Canyon, just below Brighton Ski Resort. There is a beautiful lake with a board walk surrounding the entirety of it. And so many amazing trees and you can even find some wildflowers here in the summer time. One thing you will almost always see here is moose! They love it here and it is so important to respect their home and keep our distance.

Stansbury Island

Tooele, UT 84074

Wow oh wow. This location continues to amaze me. In the middle of the summer you can catch this place completely PINK, all the salt is pink for a short amount of time and it’s so dreamy. It is dreamy any other time as well. You look like you’re walking on water! You can’t go wrong with this spot and would be amazing for any type of photoshoot.

Provo Canyon

This location has been a summer favorite and I can’t get enough of it! The colors and the view just make every picture so beautiful. This location is on the way to squaw peak overlook, about halfway up you turn into a big parking lot and we walk down a small trail and begin creating magic! Its perfect for bigger families because there is so much room and there is never a crowd so we are free to create wherever we need to.
